Christian Rampe has a passion for globes. His voyages through all continents during his apprenticeship as a joiner and his studies at the College for Wood Technology in Detmold, Germany enhanced his understanding of not only craftmanship and wood technology but also the passion for exploring new environments. Globes and their design are therefore the consequence of his personal and professional development.

 Christian already won two design awards, the “Innungswettbewerb der Gesellenstücke”, an award of the Joinery Guild in Germany, and the “Förderpreis Junge Kunst im Hochstift”, an award for young artists involved in design.

Following a lifelong dream he moved to New Zealand. Now, he and his partner own "European Woodworks Ltd" in Dunedin and offer individual designed globes and high-quality furniture.
